Kanagawa's Expo booth: a maglev station site, Kawasaki Station and a windsurfing World Cup

Our take

After Zushi on 18 October, the prefecture's booth visits three events in eleven days. The Linear Festa is in a construction site three minutes' walk from Hashimoto Station, and the Kawasaki festival fills the streets in front of Kawasaki Station. None of the notices says what the booth will offer.

  • On 15 October 2026 Kanagawa Prefecture announced on its special site that it will run GREEN×EXPO 2027 booths at three events. None of the three notices says what the booth will offer.
  • Sagamihara Linear Festa 2026: Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, 10:00 to 17:00, inside the construction site for the Kanagawa station (provisional name) of the Chuo Shinkansen maglev, three minutes’ walk from JR and Keio Hashimoto Station. Organised by the prefecture, Sagamihara City and JR Central. Entry is free, with advance registration requested (or at the gate). Cancelled in rain.
  • Minna no Kawasaki Festival: Sunday 1 November, 11:00 to 16:00, in the streets in front of JR and Keikyu Kawasaki stations, the city hall and Inage Park. It is cancelled only in a storm, announced on the official site at 13:00 the day before. Shiyakusho-dori is closed to traffic from 9:00 to 17:30.
  • ANA Windsurfing World Cup Yokosuka Miura: the prefecture’s booth is on Tuesday 3 November, a public holiday. The competition runs from 31 October to 4 November at Tsukui beach in Yokosuka, organised by a committee of ANA, Keikyu, Kanagawa Prefecture, Yokosuka City and Miura City. Spectator boats cost 500 yen per trip, first come first served on the day.
  • The English names of the events and places are trip-jp’s own renderings unless the organisers give one.

Our take

The prefecture’s booth has been at Vietnam Festa and the Fujisawa festival in September, Shibusai on 4 October and the Zushi festival on 18 October. These three fall within eleven days, from 24 October to 3 November. In September it was roughly one every two weeks; now the gaps are shorter.

The difference this time is that the prefecture is among the organisers. It runs the Linear Festa with Sagamihara and JR Central, and it sits on the windsurfing committee. Rather than only renting a stall at someone else’s festival, it has made room for the Expo inside events of its own.

For anyone travelling by train, two of the three are right by a station. The Linear Festa is three minutes’ walk from Hashimoto, and the Kawasaki festival takes place in front of JR and Keikyu Kawasaki stations. Since the booths’ contents are unknown again, treat them as a stop on the way to the main event.

Tips for visitors

  • The Linear Festa is free. Registering in advance cuts the wait at the gate. Umbrellas are not allowed at the underground stage or track level, so bring a raincoat if it is wet.
  • The Kawasaki festival announces a cancellation only for storms, at 13:00 the day before. The windsurfing organisers note that competition times depend on the weather.
  • For staying in the area and heading to the Expo from there, see hotels one station out.
