AEON becomes a Platinum Partner: Expo ads on screens in about 250 stores and in about 100 AEON Cinemas

Our take

AEON is the fourth Platinum Partner of the awareness-building project we know of, after the Osada advertising group, Keikyu and JTB, and it adds shop floors and cinemas to the places where the Expo is advertised. Events at AEON Mall are planned, but the malls and dates have not been announced.

What was announced

  • The AEON Group, represented by AEON Co., Ltd. (head office: Mihama Ward, Chiba), has become a Platinum Partner of the “awareness-building project,” one of the Expo’s project sponsorships. The GREEN×EXPO Association announced it on 30 October 2026.
  • Platinum Partner is the sponsorship tier of 500 million yen or more.
  • Where the ads run: digital signage and large screens in about 250 stores, mainly large stores in the Kanto region, and screenings in about 100 AEON Cinemas across Japan. The campaign runs from before the opening well into the Expo period.
  • Planned next: events in AEON Mall event spaces, and joint activities such as tree planting.
  • The group has about 19,000 stores in Japan. The photo in the release shows Expo ads on the large screens at Yokohama World Porters.
  • The start date of the ads, the list of stores, and the dates and places of the events are not given.

Our take

AEON is the fourth Platinum Partner of the awareness-building project we have covered, after the Osada advertising group on 31 August, Keikyu on 8 September and JTB on 14 September. The first three advertised on street signage, on trains and in travel agency branches. AEON adds its store floors and cinemas.

The numbers are worth reading side by side. The group has about 19,000 stores in Japan, but the ads will run in about 250 of them, mostly large stores in Kanto, which is about the same as JTB’s 255 branches. The nationwide part is the roughly 100 AEON Cinemas. For people living outside Kanto, we think a cinema will be the most likely place to see the Expo advertised.

The part readers can actually go to is the events in AEON Mall event spaces. The release only says they will be held in future; no dates or malls are named yet.

Tips for visitors

  • The venue is away from the stations, and shuttle buses run from four stations. Compare them in our access guide.
