GREEN×EXPO 2027, the International Horticultural Expo in Yokohama, sells six kinds of admission ticket. Early-bird pricing ends on 18 March 2027. Every visit needs a timed-entry reservation, and bookings open on Friday 18 September 2026 on the official ticket site. Convenience-store sales of tickets with a slot attached start the same day.
The ticket site is down for maintenance from 19:30 on Thursday 17 September until the early hours of Friday 18 September. The organiser has not said what time bookings open. In its notice of 14 September it warns that access may be congested right after the start, and asks people who cannot get through to wait and try again.

Ages 3 and under enter free. Paper tickets cost ¥100 extra each. There are also group tickets for parties of 15 or more (¥5,200 adults, ¥3,100 teens, ¥1,400 children) and school-group tickets (¥1,700 high school, ¥900 junior high and below). Both are sold through the organiser’s official sales agents.
There is also a limited edition. The RING PASS is an adult season pass made from timber of the Expo 2025 Grand Ring: 2,027 passes at 50,000 yen including the pass and postage, sold by lottery on a Ticket Pia site from noon on 18 September to 30 September 2026 and delivered in February 2027. Existing season pass holders can enter for the 22,000 yen difference (our report on RING PASS).
Sales periods differ by ticket. Early-bird, special discount, summer and season passes are sold in the advance period (19 March 2026 to 18 March 2027). During the run, the summer pass is sold until 31 August and the other tickets until 26 September. A season pass can hold up to four timed-entry reservations at once, a summer pass three.
A little arithmetic helps. The season pass equals about 5.1 regular one-day tickets, or 5.7 early-bird ones. The summer pass is about 2.2 regular one-day tickets. The evening ticket gives you 17:00 to last entry at 21:00, with gates closing at 21:30, so four and a half hours.

To buy on the official site you first create an account: register an email address, follow the link you receive, set a password, enter your name, language and country of residence, and confirm with a verification code (the organiser’s account set-up manual). Payment is by credit card in a single instalment or at a convenience store. Convenience-store payment is due by 23:59 on the third day counting the day of purchase, after which the order lapses. One order can hold up to 14 tickets, and one account up to 100 in total (14 each for season and summer passes). Anyone under 16 cannot buy on the official site; a parent or guardian buys instead.
Tickets you buy go into “My Tickets”. Paper tickets from sellers or convenience stores can be added to the same place by entering the 10-digit ticket ID under “add tickets” (up to 10 at a time). Unused tickets can be passed to family or friends through the “ticket transfer” function, but the recipient needs an account too. After purchase, the ticket type cannot be changed and refunds are not given, except when the organiser cancels for reasons of its own.
Admission is by QR code. Once your timed-entry reservation is made, the code appears under “My Tickets” and “check tickets”, and it can also be saved as a PDF and printed. One phone can show the codes for the whole party so everyone enters together. Because reception at the venue may be poor, the organiser recommends carrying a screenshot or a printout.
A souvenir ticket with a strap is sold separately on the official ticket site. The organiser’s notice of 22 April gives the price as ¥1,980 including tax plus a flat ¥990 shipping fee, while its FAQ says “¥1,800 including tax, packaging and shipping extra”, and the two do not match. Check the price shown at checkout. Its QR code on the back admits you without relying on phone signal or battery. A timed-entry reservation is still required, shipping starts in December 2026 and is to Japanese addresses only, and the purchase cannot be cancelled or changed.
4. How timed entry works
Admission requires a timed-entry reservation. The rules were set out in the organiser’s 27 August 2026 release, and the screens are explained in its timed-entry guide (PDF) and ticket FAQ.
What has been decided:
- Reservations open on Friday 18 September 2026, first come first served, for the whole run from 19 March to 26 September 2027.
- A cap on reservations applies depending on expected crowding.
- One-day and similar tickets can change the entry date and time up to three times. Even after the third change, a same-day slot can be booked from midnight on the day if space is left. Season and summer passes are outside this limit.
- Once your slot starts you can enter at any time that day. There is no need to queue at the exact time.
- If you arrive without a reservation, you can book on site or online if slots are free that day, but you may not be admitted if nothing is left.
- Outdoor gardens and flower beds need no reservation.
- Some exhibits use same-day viewing reservations: one exhibit per ticket per day, with slots released in three batches through the day. Cancel at least 15 minutes before the slot. Which exhibits are covered has not been decided.
- Shuttle bus and parking reservations are separate. If either one is unavailable you will have to change your entry slot, so check both before you book.
There are three routes through the screens.
A. Buying tickets now. On the ticket site choose “buy tickets”, then “buy with an entry date and time”, and pick the date, the time and then the ticket type and quantity before adding them to the cart. Log in (with two-step verification), choose a payment method and finish. Season and summer passes are bought without a slot and then booked under B.
B. Already holding tickets. Choose “timed-entry reservation”, log in, tick the tickets you want to book, pick the date and time, and confirm. Tickets bought from a seller or a convenience store must first be added under “add tickets” using the ticket ID.
B′. Booking for family and friends together. On the ticket selection screen under B, choose the option to add tickets held by other people, and enter each 10-digit ticket ID one at a time. Up to 10 people can be booked in one go. Each ticket ID can be found in the holder’s My Tickets or in their purchase email.
Weekends and holiday periods are likely to hit the cap. If your date is fixed, reserve as soon as bookings open. If it is not, read when to visit first: Expo 2025 Osaka’s attendance curve and Yokohama’s temperatures both point to March to May.
5. Paper tickets from convenience stores
At 7-Eleven, FamilyMart and Lawson stores, the in-store terminal sells paper tickets with a QR code and a timed-entry slot attached. The slot is fixed at 9:30 entry, and you can go straight to the gate with the ticket. They suit people who would rather not book on a phone, or who are buying for the whole family.
To change the date and time, create an account on the official ticket site, add the ticket ID, then use “change or cancel entry slot”. The store terminal cannot make changes. Same-day exhibit reservations work the same way: add the ID, then apply on the day. A lost ticket is not reissued, but if you have noted the 10-digit ticket ID you can register it online and enter with the e-ticket instead. Taking a photo of the ID as soon as you buy is the safe habit.
Convenience stores sell one-day (early bird and regular), special discount and evening tickets, and the line-up changes with the sales period. Season and summer passes have no paper version, so they are not sold there (organiser FAQ).
6. Before you buy
- The shuttle bus and parking are not included. Fares are ¥200 for adults and ¥100 for children, and reservations open on 18 September 2026, the same day as timed entry.
- Age bands are judged as of 1 April 2027 (1 April 2026 for visits in March 2027). Count a child’s age on that date if they are near a boundary. A higher-priced ticket admits a younger visitor (a child on a teen or adult ticket, for example). There is no senior discount.
- Season and summer passes are tied to the holder: a face photo and name are registered after purchase, the pass cannot be transferred or lent, and the photo is checked at the venue.
- Ticket sales at the venue itself are “under consideration” and not decided. One entrance gate is planned.
- Klook and Asoview do not appear on the organiser’s list of authorised sellers as of 17 September 2026.
- Prices and conditions may change before opening. Confirm on the official ticket site right before you buy.
