GREEN×EXPO 2027 booth at Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa, with Tunku Tunku appearing three times on 13 September

• Vietnam Festa in Kanagawa has been held since 2015 to deepen mutual understanding between Vietnam and Kanagawa Prefecture. It is organised by an executive committee, the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in Japan and Kanagawa Prefecture.
• Dates and times: Saturday 12 September 2026, 10:00–20:00, and Sunday 13 September, 10:00–17:00. On the 12th, Nihon-Odori and the Prefectural Government main building close at 17:00, while the food and goods booths at Zou-no-hana Park stay open until 20:00. Admission is free.
• Venue: Nihon-Odori, the Kanagawa Prefectural Government main building and Zou-no-hana Park. It is a one-minute walk from the Kencho exit of Nihon-Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line, and ten minutes from Kannai Station on the JR line and the Yokohama Municipal Subway.
• GREEN×EXPO 2027 PR booth: booth number K-3, with an origami workshop. The prefecture’s announcement says its GREEN×EXPO 2027 support team will also appear.
• Tunku Tunku: appears at the booth around 11:00 and on stage around 13:00 and 16:00 on Sunday 13 September. All times are approximate.
• We could not tell from the prefecture’s announcement or the pamphlet whether the booth runs on both days or only on the 13th.

Our take

An origami workshop, the prefecture’s support team, and mascot appearances. That is the whole booth. Origami is a pastime the prefecture has pushed hard enough to produce a video for, and we covered Tunku Tunku and the folding instructions in Japanese. Fold one at the booth, take it home: an easy activity for families.

Borrowing a plot at a festival that has run since 2015 lets the prefecture appear often without drawing a crowd on its own, and Nihon-Odori sits right in front of the prefectural office. The same approach continues at the Fujisawa Citizens’ Festival on 27 September.

One thing we could not settle: whether the booth runs on both days or only on the 13th. The notice and the pamphlet do not say, and the mascot times are all “around.” If you are going, pick the 13th and arrive before the stated time.

Tips for visitors

• Tunku Tunku is at the booth around 11:00 and on stage around 13:00 and 16:00 on Sunday 13 September. Arriving ten minutes early is a safe margin.
• The venue is a one-minute walk from the Kencho exit of Nihon-Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line. Admission is free.
