The GREEN×EXPO 2027 site is in suburban Yokohama and has no railway station. Getting there from a hotel is a three-step trip: hotel, train to a shuttle-bus station, bus. So where you sleep decides how long the morning takes. We compared five areas on how they connect to the bus stations and who they suit. We list only hotels whose official sites state the nearest station and walking time, and we leave rates out.

By the organiser’s estimates, the bus ride is about 2 km and 10 minutes from Seya, about 4 km and 15 minutes from Mitsukyo, and about 6 km and 25 minutes from Tokaichiba. Buses are reservation-only; frequencies and timetables are unpublished.
2. Area by area
Yokohama Station: the default
The Sotetsu Main Line starts here, so you can sit all the way. There are plenty of hotels, and Minato Mirai and Chinatown are close by. Yokohama Station’s transfer passages are expected to be busy on Expo mornings (they were the subject of the organiser’s traffic trial), so leave early.

Shin-Yokohama: arriving by Shinkansen
The JR Yokohama Line runs direct to Tokaichiba. The related article on Shin-Yokohama lists five hotels. The landmark is the Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel (about 2 minutes from the station, 42 floors). The station-connected Hotel Associa closed in July 2026 and reopens under a new brand in December.
Ebina: keeping costs down
Ebina is the terminus of the Sotetsu Main Line, also served by the Odakyu Line and the JR Sagami Line. Seya is five stops away on a local train (past Kashiwadai, Sagamino, Sagami-Otsuka and Yamato). Limited expresses stop at Yamato but skip Seya, so change at Yamato if you take one. It is handy for people arriving on the Odakyu Line.

Yamato: next door to Seya
Yamato is the station next to Seya, and every train type stops there, including limited expresses. For drivers, the Aeon Mall Yamato and Ito-Yokado Yamato-Tsuruma car parks (about 500 spaces together) become park-and-ride car parks on peak days, with a dedicated, reservation-only shuttle bus to the venue.

Machida: from western Tokyo
For Tokaichiba, take the JR Yokohama Line. The Odakyu Line also serves Machida, so it suits people coming from Shinjuku the night before.

3. Staying next to a bus station
Sleeping near Seya, Mitsukyo, Tokaichiba or Minami-machida Grandberry Park would make the morning easiest. As of 16 September 2026, the only hotel we could confirm at one of those stations is Toyoko Inn Minami-machida, at Minami-machida Grandberry Park Station (3 minutes from the north exit, per its official site). Filtering booking sites by station turned up no hotel described as walkable from Seya, Mitsukyo or Tokaichiba. 4. Booking order and timing
- From 18 September 2026, reserve your entry date and time.
- On or after that day, reserve the shuttle bus and fix your bus station.
- Choose the area to match that station and book the hotel.
Rooms around Yokohama Station and Shin-Yokohama are likely to go first for the opening days from 19 March 2027, Golden Week and summer weekends. Book the day your date is set, and buy early-bird one-day tickets by 18 March 2027.
Correction (16 September 2026): we had described Ebina to Seya as “two stops, past Yamato”. It is five stops on a local train. The table, the text and the FAQ have been corrected. In the same review we also corrected a line calling the Yamato park-and-ride car parks a base for combining car and train: under the Association’s plan, a dedicated shuttle bus runs from the car parks to the venue (17 September 2026).
