About
About this site
trip-jp (trip-jp.com) researches the places people travel to and writes up what it finds: when and why a place was built, who pays for it and what land it stands on. Alongside that, we write how to get there, with dates, prices and busy hours checked against official sources.
The Japanese edition covers five linked fields: expos and festivals, where people gather on set dates; shrines, temples and museums, which keep the record of a place; the railways that carried people to both; and the walk from the station. The English edition covers GREEN×EXPO 2027, the International Horticultural Expo in Yokohama, in translation from the Japanese.
trip-jp is run by the trip-jp.com Editorial Board. We are not affiliated with the organiser, the Japan Association for the International Horticultural Expo 2027.
Where we want to go
Our articles are written from published sources, read closely and checked against one another: organisers’ announcements, municipal plans and whatever else is published online, with primary sources consulted wherever accounts differ. We will keep doing this, and we want to do it better. But there are things that no amount of cross-checking will reach.
Those are the things that only the people who live in a place, or who have actually been there, know. We want this site to become a place where readers, local people and the people who work at these places bring what they know, together with the warmth and first-hand feel of having been there.
That said, the site only started in September 2026, and for now we are still at the stage of reading documents and writing. What is written here is something we will build up over time.

Sources and quoting policy
Every fact on this site (dates, prices, transport, reservation rules, train and venue information) comes from the following official sources. Each article shows the date and a link to the source. Anything we cannot confirm is marked as unpublished or unconfirmed.
- Official announcements by organisers, railway operators, venues and local governments published on press-release services such as PR TIMES (the Expo organiser’s releases appear on PR TIMES and on its official site with identical content)
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (participating countries and organisations, related diplomatic activity)
- The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (basic policy, the government pavilion, the nationwide partnership programme)
- Yokohama City (city and ward initiatives, donations)
We do not reproduce press releases. We restate the key points in our own words, and quote the original text only briefly, in quotation marks, where the wording matters. Analysis and impressions are our own opinion and are kept in separate paragraphs from the factual summary. Articles are written from published sources. Where we report or photograph on site, the article says so with the date.
Corrections
Besides the published and updated dates, each article shows an “as of” date: the day its contents were last checked against the sources. It is not necessarily the day the text was last edited.
When we find a factual error, we fix the text and change the updated date. The “as of” date changes only when the whole article has been checked again. For corrections that affect what readers do (dates, prices, journey times, venues), we add a note at the end of the article saying what was changed and when. Typos and rewording are not logged.
When an announcement itself changes (postponement, new prices, a route change), we treat it as an update rather than an error and revise the text and the updated date, and the “as of” date as well if we have re-checked the article. If you spot outdated information, please let the operator know.
