The GREEN×EXPO 2027 site has no station of its own. Getting there means hotel, then train to one of four shuttle-bus stations, then bus: Seya and Mitsukyo on the Sotetsu Main Line, Tokaichiba on the JR Yokohama Line, and Minami-machida Grandberry Park on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line. So can you stay right at one of those stations? We searched three booking sites (Rakuten Travel, Jalan and Ikyu.com) by station, and as of 16 September 2026, Minami-machida Grandberry Park was the only one of the four with a hotel described as walkable from it. The hotels close to the venue sit not at the shuttle-bus stations themselves, but at interchange stations further out, each no more than one change of trains away.

These distances and times come from the GREEN×EXPO Association (Japan Association for the 2027 International Horticultural Expo)‘s Visitor Transport Implementation Plan, 3rd edition (July 2026). The plan describes the travel times as “estimates that vary with road congestion and other conditions.” The frequency range runs from the lowest figure in normal periods to the highest in busy periods, and is also set to change by time of day. Buses are due to run from one hour before the gates open to one hour after they close, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The fare is 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children. A timetable has not yet been published.
Minami-machida Grandberry Park Station is the same distance from the venue as Mitsukyo, about 4 km, but its planned travel time is five minutes longer, at 20 minutes. Even so, it is the only one of the four with a hotel at the station. Toyoko Inn Minami-machida’s official site states it is “a 3-minute walk from the north exit of Minami-machida Grandberry Park Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line.”
Booking sites do list hotels under Seya, Mitsukyo and Tokaichiba too. Reading the descriptions, though, shows hotels actually in Yamato, Futamatagawa or Machida mixed into those lists, and none within walking distance of the named station. The count a station filter shows is not something to take at face value. Mitsukyo’s Rakuten Travel listing and Tokaichiba’s Jalan listing would not load, so for those two we checked the other two booking sites instead.
2. How many hotels at the interchange stations further out
At interchange stations no more than one change away from a shuttle-bus station, we counted the hotels whose official sites state a walking time. Larger stations such as Machida and Fujisawa have more hotels than the table shows. Rakuten Travel’s Yamato listing shows one more hotel, Yamato Daiichi Hotel, but we could not reach its official site to confirm the walking time.
Beyond those six stations, we found hotels at other stations with an official walking time too. Futamatagawa (the Sotetsu Main Line and Izumino Line interchange, three stops from Seya towards Ebina) has Toyoko Inn Futamatagawa-eki Kitaguchi, 3 minutes from the north exit. Aobadai (Den-en-toshi Line) has Aobadai Forum, 2 minutes away. Hashimoto (JR Yokohama Line, Keio Sagamihara Line, JR Sagami Line) has two APA Hotels, 3 and 5 minutes from the north exit, and Toyoko Inn Keio-sen Hashimoto-eki Kitaguchi, 5 minutes away. Filtering by station, though, turned up no walkable hotel at Chuo-Rinkan, Nagatsuta or Tsukimino. Minami-Rinkan, two stops from Yamato on the Odakyu Enoshima Line, has Ictas Inn Minami-Rinkan, a 1-minute walk from the west exit according to its official site.

3. Hotel bookings are already open
Here is when each chain’s official site says it starts taking bookings.

From 16 September 2026 to the opening day, 19 March 2027, is 6 months and 3 days. To Golden Week, it is about seven and a half months. Every chain except Super Hotel already has the opening days through Golden Week within its booking window. Counting the current month as one of the six, Super Hotel (Fujisawa-eki Minamiguchi) opens March 2027 dates on 1 October 2026 and May dates on 1 December 2026. We could not find a stated booking window on the official sites of Odakyu Hotel Century Sagami-Ono, Rembrandt Hotel Ebina or Keikyu EX Inn.
Entry-slot and shuttle-bus reservations open on a first-come basis from 18 September. The entry-slot booking can be changed up to three times.
4. Drivers: park-and-ride is at Yamato and Sagami-Ono
The Visitor Transport Implementation Plan sets aside park-and-ride car parks for busy periods, with a dedicated shuttle bus from each car park to the venue: about 500 spaces combined at the Aeon Mall Yamato and Ito-Yokado Yamato-Tsuruma car parks (both in Shimotsuruma, Yamato), and about 200 at the Sagami-Ono multi-storey car park. The car parks and the buses, including the return trip, are reservation-only. Fees and the days park-and-ride runs are in our access guide. Separately, in busy periods the plan uses coin-operated car parks near stations further from the four shuttle-bus stations as partner car parks, with drivers continuing to the four stations by train, a “park and rail ride” arrangement.
Our take
Staying at an interchange further out makes an early bus easy to reach. Under the plan, buses start at 8:30, an hour before the gates open. Yamato to Seya is one stop on the Sotetsu Main Line, so even with an early booking, leaving the hotel a little after 8:00 should be enough. The buses are reservation-only, so the time slot you manage to book will shape your morning more than the station you stay at.
What worries us is the number of hotels. Of the ones we confirmed, Yamato and Shonandai have two each and Sagami-Ono just one. On weekends and holidays around the opening and Golden Week, we expect hotels at stations like these to fill before those around Yokohama Station do. Bookings are already open at most chains, so if your travel date is fixed, there is no need to wait for 18 September to reserve a room. Read the cancellation terms first, as a hedge in case your entry-slot booking does not go through.
If you are weighing this against a hotel around Yokohama Station, the deciding factor is your evening plan: sightseeing in Yokohama, or not. If you will be at the Expo from morning to evening and only resting at the hotel afterwards, an interchange further out is enough.
