Our take

The adult price of 5,000 yen is the early-bird 4,900 yen plus the 100 yen paper-ticket charge, the same as ordering a paper ticket on the official site. Staff at the help desk will not book for you. They guide you through the steps on your own phone, so bring it.

What was announced

  • On 7 October 2026 the GREEN×EXPO Association said it will sell paper one-day tickets at large events, mainly in the Tokyo area, starting this month.
  • Only early-bird one-day tickets are sold: 5,000 yen for adults, 3,100 yen for teens and 1,500 yen for children, tax included. That is the early-bird price plus a 100 yen paper-ticket charge. Sales end when the planned number is sold.
  • Four events are listed. Saturday 10 October: Kadan Fes 2026 Autumn, in the plaza outside Funabashi Racecourse (Funabashi, Chiba). Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October: EXPO2025 Futures Tour at Azabudai Hills Arena (Minato, Tokyo; cashless payment only). Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October: Shin-Yokohama Performance 2026, at the west plaza in front of Shin-Yokohama Station and nearby sites. Thursday 22 to Sunday 25 October: Hibiya Park Gardening Show 2026 (Hibiya Park, Tokyo).
  • A temporary visitor help desk will stand at the same venues. Staff answer questions face to face on buying tickets on the official ticket site, booking timed entry, and getting to the venue and booking transport. They do not make bookings on your behalf; they help you use your own smartphone.
  • The booth also sells officially licensed goods.
  • The release does not give booth hours, the number of tickets, or whether the paper ticket comes with a timed-entry booking. The association plans to sell at other events too and will announce them on social media.

The event names in English are our own renderings, as the release gives them in Japanese only.

Our take

What you buy at these booths is the ticket. The timed-entry booking is a separate step. A ticket alone does not get you into GREEN×EXPO 2027; you also need to book a date and an entry slot. Paper tickets from convenience stores, on sale since 18 September, come out with the 9:30 slot already attached. This release says neither that a booking is included nor that it is not. Since “how to book timed entry” is on the help desk’s list, we think you book on your own phone after buying.

The 5,000 yen price is the early-bird 4,900 yen plus 100 yen for the paper ticket. That matches the surcharge for paper tickets ordered on the official site, announced on 17 July, so the booth is not a cheaper route. What differs is that you leave with the ticket in your hand, and that you can ask a person about the parts you are unsure of. The association says the desk is for people who are uneasy with digital devices or who want to prepare while talking to someone.

A ticket bought online is passed to someone else through the ticket site’s transfer function. A paper ticket can simply be handed over. The release itself names gifts for family and friends, and a keepsake for yourself, as uses for it.

Tips for visitors

  • The first day is Saturday 10 October, at Kadan Fes in Funabashi and at the EXPO2025 Futures Tour in Azabudai (also on the 11th). Cash is not accepted at the Azabudai venue.
  • At Azabudai, the exhibition area is open until 16:00 only to people who won the advance lottery, which closed on 4 October, according to the Expo 2025 association. From 16:00 entry without a numbered ticket is planned. If you did not win, go after 16:00.
  • To get help with booking, bring your smartphone and decide beforehand on your date, your entry slot and the station where you will board the shuttle bus. The booking order is in our ticket guide and the four stations are in the shuttle bus guide.
  • Early-bird prices run until 18 March 2027, so there is no rush if you cannot reach any of these four events.
