GREEN×EXPO 2027 shuttle buses are booked separately: four stations and two terminals

Prices, times and dates in this article follow official announcements as of 18 September 2026. Check the official sites right before you book.

Buying a GREEN×EXPO 2027 ticket and reserving an entry time does not reserve a seat on the shuttle bus. The organiser’s ticket FAQ calls timed entry and shuttle bus or parking reservations “separate procedures”. If you get one and not the other, you will have to change a booking, so it asks visitors to check availability for both first. Both opened on Friday 18 September 2026.

There is no railway station at the venue, the former Kamiseya Communication Facility in Yokohama. Buses run from four stations: Seya and Mitsukyo on the Sotetsu Main Line, Minami-machida Grandberry Park on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, and Tokaichiba on the JR Yokohama Line. Where the stops are, how many buses run and where they arrive are set out in the visitor transport plan (3rd edition) published by the GREEN×EXPO Association in July 2026.

On 18 September, the day bookings opened, the organiser published how to book (its access page and FAQ). Buses are not booked on the ticket site but on a separate site, https://cs.shuttle-bus.expo2027yokohama.or.jp .

1. How to book

  • The outward and return trips are booked separately, both in advance and paid in advance. You create an account on the booking site and choose the date, the time and the boarding and drop-off points. Per day you can hold one outward and one return booking, each for up to 40 people.
  • Payment is by credit card. Without one, ask someone in your group who can pay to book for everyone, and travel together. The organiser says QR-code payment will be added later.
  • A booking made more than 181 days before the travel date is provisional, and the card payment falls between 180 and 31 days before. Unpaid provisional bookings are cancelled automatically.
  • It is separate from your entry booking. If one of the two is unavailable you will have to change the other, so check both before booking. Changing your entry date does not move the bus booking (ticket terms in force from 18 September, Article 11, paragraph 5). A one-day ticket’s entry date can be changed up to three times, and each change means rebooking the bus.
  • Cancellation is free until 17:00 the day before travel. From then until five minutes before the meeting time it costs half the fare, and after that the booking cannot be cancelled.
  • Go to the station for the meeting time you booked. People who arrive early are directed to a waiting area.

2. Fares

Standard¥200¥100
Disability discount¥100¥50

Children means age 1 to under 12 (primary school age and younger). Under-ones ride free, and up to two children aged 1 to 5 (including six-year-olds not yet at school) ride free per paying passenger. The disability discount is for holders of a disability certificate or similar (Association announcement, 17 July 2026).

The fare is paid by credit card when you book.

3. Stops and buses per hour at the four stations

Tokaichiba (JR Yokohama Line)4 bays at the north exit rotary, to be rebuilt before openingabout 6 km, 25 minabout 20 to 60weekdays about 4,000; peak days about 11,000North

Buses per hour run from the off-peak minimum to the peak-day maximum, and the number of buses and bays may change by time of day. Ride times are estimates and grow when roads are busy. “Weekdays” means weekdays from opening to the summer holidays, excluding Golden Week; “peak days” are weekends and holidays in Golden Week, September and similar periods (19 days).

Buses run from 8:30 to 22:30, one hour before opening (9:30) to one hour after closing (21:30), with the last departure from the venue at 22:30. At peak times the organiser expects a bus every 1.5 to 3 minutes at Seya, every 2 to 6 minutes at Mitsukyo, and every 1 to 3 minutes at Minami-machida Grandberry Park and Tokaichiba (FAQ, 18 September). Most vehicles are city-bus type, and the plan counts 50 people per bus including standing passengers. The roughly 90 buses in daily use are planned to be electric or similar low-emission vehicles.

4. Two terminals at the venue

The venue has two bus terminals, one for each direction.

  • North terminal: buses from Minami-machida Grandberry Park and Tokaichiba. 7 boarding bays, 8 drop-off bays.
  • South terminal: buses from Seya and Mitsukyo. 6 boarding bays, 8 drop-off bays.

The middle of the terminal area holds waiting buses and chargers for the electric buses. The taxi stand is separate, near the main gate. If the plan holds, the terminal you leave from depends on the station you are going back to. Returning to a station on the other side means going to the other terminal.

5. Waiting, heat and wheelchairs

Tents for shade are planned at the bus stops at the stations and at the venue. Staff will manage the length of the queues, and station plazas will be used as waiting space when it gets busy.

Wheelchair users and people who find it hard to wait in a queue get a separate waiting area, with a clear route to the bus and staff to guide them. Lifts and toilets at the four stations, and the free-fare rules for small children, are in our guide for strollers, wheelchairs and older visitors.

6. Other ways to get there

The plan includes a recommended walking route from Seya Station (no walking time has been published). Direct buses are planned from Shin-Yokohama, Yokohama Station, the Minato Mirai and Kannai districts and Haneda Airport (announced on 18 September; operators, times, fares and booking are still being arranged).

Drivers use the reservation-only car parks at the venue. On the 19 peak days there is also park and ride, at Aeon Mall Yamato and Ito-Yokado Yamato-Tsuruma (about 500 spaces between them) and the Sagami-Ono multi-storey car park (about 200). It costs 3,000 yen per car and includes the return bus for everyone in the car. Wheelchair users cannot board these buses and should use the car parks at the venue. Which station to use from where is compared in our access guide.

Our take

Say the bus from the station you planned to use is full at the time you want. Before moving your entry booking, look at the neighbouring station.

Seya and Mitsukyo are next to each other on the Sotetsu Main Line, with Mitsukyo one stop closer to Yokohama, and buses from both arrive at the south terminal. On the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line from Shibuya, you can change to the JR Yokohama Line at Nagatsuta, before Minami-machida Grandberry Park, and Tokaichiba is the next stop. That bus uses the same north terminal.

Mitsukyo has the fewest buses and the fewest planned riders. It is a small station rather than a quiet one. On peak weekends, expect buses from all four stations to be hard to book.

FAQ

Is the shuttle bus booked together with my timed-entry reservation?

No. Buses are booked on a separate site (cs.shuttle-bus.expo2027yokohama.or.jp), where the outward and return trips are booked and paid for in advance. If one of the two bookings is unavailable you will need to change the other, so check availability for both before booking. Both opened on Friday 18 September 2026.

How much is the shuttle bus?

¥200 for adults and ¥100 for children aged 1 to under 12. With a disability certificate, ¥100 and ¥50. Under-ones ride free, and up to two children aged 1 to 5 ride free per paying passenger.

If I change my entry date, does my bus booking change too?

No. The ticket terms in force from 18 September 2026 (Article 11, paragraph 5) say a change of entry date applies to the ticket only. Shuttle bus and parking bookings have to be changed separately.

Do I need to book the return bus as well?

Yes. The outward and return trips are booked separately, one of each per day, for up to 40 people at a time. Cancellation is free until 17:00 the day before travel, costs half the fare until five minutes before the meeting time, and is not possible after that.

Which station has the most buses?

The organiser's visitor transport plan (3rd edition) plans about 20 to 60 buses an hour from Minami-machida Grandberry Park and Tokaichiba, about 20 to 40 from Seya and about 10 to 30 from Mitsukyo, from the off-peak minimum to the peak-day maximum.
