Our take

This is Amidaike Daikoku's second official licensed product, two weeks after its cookies. The shops, the last sales day of 18 March (the day before the opening) and the 180-day best-before period are all the same; the difference is the pouch you keep afterwards.

  • What it is and the price: Seven chocolate crunch bars in a drawstring pouch with a Tunku Tunku design. Suggested retail price 1,700 yen including tax. Best-before period 180 days. The pouch can be reused for small items. An official licensed product of the expo.
  • Sales period: Rolling out from 28 October 2026 until 18 March 2027.
  • Where: Official stores at Maruzen Marunouchi (Tokyo), Maruzen Yokohama Minatomirai and Yokohama Luxis Front (Kanagawa), MARUZEN & Junkudo Umeda (Osaka) and Junkudo Sannomiya (Hyogo), plus the EXPO 2027 Official Online Store. The list is as of the release date and may grow.

Same shops and same last day as the October cookies

Amidaike Daikoku released Tunku Tunku cookies on 14 October. The cookies are 17 for 1,000 yen; the crunch is 7 bars for 1,700 yen. The five shops plus the online store, the end of sales on 18 March and the 180-day best-before period are the same for both.

18 March is the day before the opening, so both are planned to leave the shelves before the site opens. Counting 180 days from 18 March gives 14 September, before the 26 September close. Even items bought on the last day will expire by late summer, so if you plan to take them to the expo as a snack, check the date printed on the pack.

Tips for visitors

  • In Yokohama, the two shops are Maruzen in Minatomirai and the Yokohama Luxis Front store, both official stores inside bookshops. More shops may be added.
  • Other places to buy official goods are in the Tunku Tunku feature. The pop-up store inside JR Ueno Station’s gates is in our Lisa and Gaspard news.
