2.9 million tickets sold by 18 October: up 290,000 in a month, season passes reach 25,131

Our take

The month after convenience-store sales and timed-entry booking began added 289,782 tickets, about 9,700 a day, slower than the roughly 14,000 a day averaged over the previous six months. Season passes grew 36% to 25,131. Whether RING PASS winners are included is not disclosed.

  • On 21 October 2026 the GREEN×EXPO Association published ticket sales figures on its official website. The figures are as of 18 October 2026.
  • Total tickets sold: 2,899,344.
  • By type: early-bird one-day tickets 2,860,447; season passes 25,131; special discount tickets 13,065; summer passes 701.
  • Compared with the previous figures as of 18 September (2,609,562 in total), the increase is 289,782 overall: 278,397 early-bird one-day tickets, 6,704 season passes, 4,564 special discount tickets and 117 summer passes (trip-jp’s calculation).
  • Night tickets and regular-price one-day tickets are not in the table. Regular-price one-day tickets go on sale on 19 March 2027.
  • The notice does not break the figures down by sales channel (official ticket site, travel agencies, convenience stores) or between individuals and groups, and does not say when the next update will come.

Our take

Last time the figures as of 18 September came out on 25 September; this time the figures as of 18 October came out on 21 October. The Association appears to have settled on a monthly update with the 18th as the cut-off, so we expect figures as of 18 November in late November.

The month added 289,782 tickets, about 9,700 a day. The six months from the start of sales on 19 March to 18 September had produced 2,609,562, or roughly 14,000 a day, so this month was slower. But the earlier total may include bulk purchases by sponsors and local governments, and this month’s figure is not necessarily individual buyers only. The Association also does not say how many of the new tickets came through convenience stores, which began selling on 18 September, so the table alone does not explain the difference in pace.

Season passes stand out: up 6,704 to 25,131, a 36% rise against 11% for early-bird one-day tickets. The RING PASS lottery took applications from 18 to 30 September, with winners notified in early October. It is a season pass, so the 1,727 new-purchase winners may be in this figure, though the Association gives no breakdown. If they are, the rise in ordinary season passes would be around 5,000.

Tips for visitors

  • Early-bird one-day tickets are 4,900 yen for adults until 18 March 2027 and 5,500 yen at the regular price from 19 March. Ticket types and prices are in How to buy tickets.
  • Buying a ticket does not fix your entry date and time. Timed-entry booking has been open on a first-come basis since 18 September; see Timed entry details. If you know when you are going, book the slot the same day you buy.
  • If you live along the lines to the venue and plan to go twice a month or more, run the numbers for a season pass (28,000 yen for adults) in How to think about the season pass.
