- The Flower Fes runs from Thursday 1 October to Thursday 12 November 2026 at Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama (2-100-45 Shin-Yokohama, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama), which connects directly to JR Shin-Yokohama Station. All events take place in the 10th-floor atrium.
- Giant gacha: Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, 11:00 to 16:30, 200 people a day. One spin per receipt showing 2,000 yen or more (tax included, receipts can be combined, Bic Camera excluded) spent in the building between Monday 26 October and the day itself. Prize A is a pair of GREEN×EXPO 2027 admission tickets (e-tickets), 50 a day; prize B is a mini growing kit, 150 a day.
- Workshops: 3 October, large paper-and-wire flowers (100 places); 4 October, terrariums (60); 24 and 25 October, collage with plant-dyed fabric scraps led by the artist Yamamoto Aiko (our romanisation; 11:00 and 14:00, 15 per session, numbered tickets from 30 minutes before); 8 November, a candy-balloon bouquet “flower picking” for children aged 3 to primary school (11:00 and 14:00, 50 per session, numbered tickets from an hour before).
- Workshops also require a receipt of 2,000 yen or more, and the earliest qualifying purchase date differs by event (28 September for the 3 and 4 October sessions, 19 October for 24 and 25 October, 2 November for 8 November).
- The mall runs the event in support of Pink Ribbon Kanagawa, a breast-cancer awareness campaign.
- Cancellations or changes will be posted on the mall’s website and X. The ticket type, validity period and timed-entry booking for the prize tickets are not stated.
Our take
Expo tickets have become a prize at a station mall. Not the Association or a local government, but a shopping centre in Shin-Yokohama attaching a pair of GREEN×EXPO 2027 tickets to its own autumn event. With less than six months to opening, this is how tickets start to circulate. The numbers are small: 400 spins over two days, 100 pairs, 200 tickets, against the 2.6 million already sold. But the entry cost is 2,000 yen of shopping, and two adult one-day tickets are 9,800 yen at the early-bird price, so a win pays for itself several times over.
The place matters too. As our access guide explains, Shin-Yokohama is the Shinkansen gateway for visitors from afar, and the JR Yokohama Line runs from there to Tokaichiba, one of the four shuttle-bus stations, without a change. Anyone with business in Shin-Yokohama at the end of October can spin on the way. What the release does not say is which ticket type the e-ticket is, how long it is valid, or how winners make their timed-entry booking. For that, wait for the mall or the Association to explain.
Tips for visitors
- To spin, keep receipts from purchases in the building from 26 October onwards (combinable, Bic Camera excluded). The gacha runs 11:00 to 16:30 on 31 October and 1 November in the 10th-floor atrium and closes once 200 people a day have played.
- If you do not win, early-bird one-day tickets cost 4,900 yen for adults until 18 March 2027. The price table is in ticket types and how to buy.
- With children, the flower-picking on 8 November takes ages 3 to primary school, 50 per session, numbered tickets from an hour before. Any workshop may be cancelled or changed, so check the mall’s website or X before you go.
Our take
A shopping receipt at the mall attached to the Shinkansen station might turn into a pair of Expo tickets. Two hundred people a day can spin, and 50 of them win the pair, so one in four. Which ticket type it is, when it is valid and how timed-entry booking works are not in the announcement.
