Lebanon signs its participation contract, completing the Middle East's five

Our take

The contract was signed on 8 September and announced more than three weeks later. All five Middle Eastern participants have now signed. Lebanon's exhibit has not been announced, but its national day is scheduled for 12 April 2027.

What was announced

  • The GREEN×EXPO Association announced on 1 October 2026 that it had signed an official participation contract with the Lebanese Republic. The signing took place on 8 September.
  • The Association says it will now move ahead with concrete preparations for the exhibit. The theme, location and form of Lebanon’s exhibit are not given.
  • The Association’s participation list (as of 9 September 2026) puts five countries in the Middle East: Yemen, Qatar, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. With Lebanon, all five have signed.

Our take

The announcement was two sentences in the “news” section of the Association’s website. More than three weeks passed between the signing and the announcement, and in between the Association held its six-months-out press event on 16 September. Signings are sometimes posted quietly and after the fact, so anyone tracking the count is best served by the Association’s own news list.

We have followed the region in our article on the five Middle Eastern countries, and this fills the last gap. Qatar signed first, in May 2025, as the expo’s first international exhibitor; Yemen (April 2026), Syria (August) and Jordan (announced in August) followed, and Lebanon came last. In the list we keep from the Association’s announcements, 56 of the 74 participating countries have now signed.

Signing does not mean the exhibit is known. In the Middle East, only Qatar’s plans are public, with a four-part pavilion based on a student’s design. For Lebanon, what it will show depends on the next announcement.

Tips for visitors

  • The Association’s event list schedules Lebanon’s national day for Monday 12 April 2027, a weekday a little over three weeks after opening. All the national days are in our national days article.
  • Lebanon’s capital, population, languages and its history of exchange with Japan are in our Middle East article. We will add the exhibit there once it is announced.
