Every country and international organisation taking part in GREEN×EXPO 2027 gets one day of its own. The GREEN×EXPO Association describes it as a day to honour the participant and help visitors understand its culture. On 15 September 2026 the Association published its first list of events, and an attachment to it gives dates for 59 of these days: 58 countries and one international organisation, the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), whose day is called a Special Day.
All 59 take place in the main event hall (provisional name, about 500 seats) and are listed as official ceremonies and cultural performances. As of 9 September 2026, 74 countries and 5 international organisations had announced participation, and the Association says every official participant will hold a National Day or Special Day. The 59 are only those whose participants have agreed to publication, and the Association notes that dates may change.

Weekdays, weekends and holidays
Fridays have the most, with 16. Then come Thursdays (10), Wednesdays (9), Tuesdays (7) and Mondays (6). Saturdays have 6 and Sundays 5, so 11 fall on a weekend and 48 on weekdays.

None fall in Golden Week, the cluster of Japanese public holidays between 29 April and 5 May. After the Democratic Republic of the Congo on Wednesday 28 April, the next is Jordan on Friday 7 May. Obon, the mid-August holiday season, is also empty: The Gambia on Saturday 7 August is followed by India on Wednesday 18 August. Counting these two, there are six stretches of a week or more without a National Day; the others are in mid to late May, early June, early July, and from the end of July into early August.
The summer pass, valid from 1 July to 31 August, covers 18 of them. July alone has 12, more than any other month.
The ends of the Expo are quiet too. There is no announced National Day in the first four days (19 to 22 March) or the last nine (18 to 26 September).

Our take
If you can only travel in public holidays, plan on missing the National Days. There are none in Golden Week or Obon, and only 11 on weekends. Whether the dates were set to avoid the busiest periods, the release does not say.
If you can take a weekday off, you can pick your day by country. Italy’s day is Thursday 22 April; at the press conference on 15 September, the Italian Ambassador said Italy will reuse its Italian Garden from Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai in Yokohama. Qatar (Monday 10 May) and India (Wednesday 18 August) are among the countries with their own guide on our site.
Times and seating rules are still missing, though. We think it is too early to fix a long day trip around a National Day alone.

- An adult one-day ticket costs 4,900 yen if bought by 18 March 2027 and 5,500 yen after opening. The ticket types are compared in our ticket guide.
- Dates may change, so check the Association’s website before you go. When changes or new dates are announced, we will update the tables here.
