Our take

After the Osada advertising group and Keikyu, JTB is the third Platinum Partner of the awareness-building project we know of, and the first travel agency. Its Expo site bundles official tickets with hotels in Yokohama, Shin-Yokohama and Kawasaki. Whether branches will sell tickets over the counter is not stated.

  • JTB Corp. has become a Platinum Partner of the awareness-building project under the project sponsorship programme. The GREEN×EXPO Association announced it on 14 September 2026. JTB says the contract was signed on 4 September.
  • Platinum is the tier for sponsorships of 500 million yen or more. Project sponsorship is the scheme in which companies shape Expo content in dialogue with the Association.
  • What JTB provides: posters, brochure racks and digital signage in its 255 branches in Japan (as of 1 May 2026), from before the opening and on through the Expo period.
  • Tickets: JTB’s release notes that timed-entry reservations open on the official site on 18 September 2026, and points to its own GREEN×EXPO 2027 site for JTB ticket sales. That site offers official admission tickets online, hotel plans around the venue and a desk for group travel.
  • Next: JTB has set up a GREEN×EXPO 2027 support desk and says it will carry its experience from Expo 2025 Osaka and Yokohama to Expo 2027 Belgrade (May to August 2027) and Expo 2030 Riyadh.
  • Neither release says whether branches will sell tickets over the counter, when the in-store promotion starts, or whether JTB will offer its own ticket packages or discounts.

Our take

Three Platinum Partners of the awareness-building project in two weeks: the Osada advertising group on 31 August, Keikyu on 8 September, and now JTB. Street screens, train posters, and now travel agency counters.

The audience is what changes. Screens and trains reach people passing by. Someone who walks into a JTB branch has already decided to go somewhere and is there to settle a destination and dates. A poster at that counter meets a person mid-decision, which we think is where an Expo notice works hardest.

For visitors, the practical change is the JTB site. It lists official admission tickets for sale online, alongside hotels in Yokohama, Shin-Yokohama and Kawasaki. The venue sits in the suburbs with no station of its own, so where you sleep sets your morning travel time. Booking ticket and hotel in one place is a real convenience for anyone coming from afar. Visitors from abroad should note that the site is in Japanese.

What neither the releases nor the site state: whether prices match the official ticket site, whether a fee applies, and whether paper tickets will be sold at branch counters. Compare with the official ticket types and early-bird prices before you buy. We will add details as they appear.

Tips for visitors

  • If you want ticket and hotel in one booking, start with JTB’s Expo site (Japanese). Timed-entry reservations on the official site open on 18 September, so pick your ticket type first using ticket types and how to buy.
  • Early-bird one-day tickets are sold until 18 March 2027. That is the deadline behind any poster you see in a JTB branch.
  • Yokohama Station, Shin-Yokohama, Ebina, Machida or Yamato: the choice sets your morning travel time. See where to stay for the Expo.
