- When and where: Thursday 5 November 2026, 9:30 to 17:00, at Pia Arena MM (3-2-2 Minatomirai, Nishi Ward, Yokohama). Entry is free; register in advance on the official page.
- Organisers: co-hosted by water dispenser maker OSG Corporation and the GREEN×EXPO Association, with support from the Ministry of the Environment, Yokohama City and Kanagawa Prefecture, among others. This is the third Sutehaji EXPO.
- Water refills: you can fill your own bottle from the dispensers used at the Expo 2025 Osaka venue. If you forget yours, the Karikae bottle can be borrowed free of charge against a deposit.
- Talks: the GREEN×EXPO Association’s head of public relations and promotion, from 15:35 to 15:55 (“four months to the opening”); wrestler Masahiro Chono from 16:00; a talk by mountaineer Ken Noguchi and Eko Noguchi from 13:00, among others. Times are as planned on 10 September.
- Exhibits: about 140 booths from companies, local governments and students, including companies expected to have pavilions at GREEN×EXPO 2027. About 3,000 visitors are expected.
- OSG says it placed 52 dispensers at the Expo 2025 Osaka venue and that they were used more than 12 million times.
- Note: Sutehaji (roughly “throwaway is embarrassing”) is the name of OSG’s project against single-use waste.
Our take
For the GREEN×EXPO 2027 venue itself, Waterstand announced on 24 September that it would provide water refill stations as a heat-measures sponsor. That release gave no number, no locations and did not say whether refills will be free.
OSG’s release says the event will present “information on water supply at the GREEN×EXPO 2027 venue.” It does not say who will present it or in how much detail, but the Association is co-hosting and its head of PR is speaking. For anyone planning a summer visit, it may be the first chance to hear from the Association how easy it will be to refill water at the venue.
The company that supplied water at Expo 2025 Osaka and the one supplying refill stations at GREEN×EXPO 2027 are different. The dispensers you can try on 5 November are the Osaka ones, not necessarily the machines that will be at the Yokohama venue.
Tips for visitors
- Register in advance through the official page. Entry is free.
- The Association’s talk runs for 20 minutes from 15:35. Times are as planned on 10 September, so check the timetable on the official page before you go.
- Bring your own bottle to try a refill. What is known about refill stations at the Expo venue is in our 24 September report.
Our take
It is on a weekday, but entry is free and the Association's head of PR speaks from 15:35. The organiser says information on drinking water at the GREEN×EXPO 2027 venue will be presented, so there may be news on the refill stations, whose number and locations were not given in September.
