Pia releases a Myaku-Myaku and Tunku Tunku embroidered phone-shoulder-bag mook on 29 October, 3,300 yen

Our take

The 8-page book is the wrapper; the embroidered shoulder bag is the product. Myaku-Myaku passing a flower baton to Tunku Tunku repeats the 'handover' motif of September's gold coin, this time at 3,300 yen and sold through bookshops nationwide rather than official stores and events.

  • On 21 October 2026 Pia Corporation announced the “Tunku Tunku & Myaku-Myaku Futari de Odekake Smartphone Shoulder BOOK”, on sale Thursday 29 October. Pre-orders opened the same day. The title is trip-jp’s rendering; Pia has not published an English title.
  • Price 3,300 yen (3,000 yen before tax). A4 format, 8 pages, published by Pia. It is an official licensed product of both Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai and the 2027 International Horticultural Expo.
  • The shoulder bag is black polyester, 200 mm high, 155 mm wide at the opening (130 mm at the base) and 20 mm deep, with a 160 mm front pocket and a detachable strap adjustable from 670 to 1,300 mm. Pia says it holds a smartphone, cards, lip balm and a paperback.
  • The front carries embroidery of Myaku-Myaku holding a flower and Tunku Tunku. The concept is Myaku-Myaku “passing the baton” to Tunku Tunku. The lining is an original print of the two characters, and the bag has a double name tag reading “EXPO2025” and “GREEN×EXPO 2027”.
  • The pages cover the bag itself, an introduction to the two characters and the latest on GREEN×EXPO 2027, which opens on 19 March 2027.
  • Pre-orders are taken at bookshops nationwide and online at Amazon, Rakuten Books and BOOK Pia. The print run, the sales period and whether the venue’s official store will carry it are not stated.

Our take

This is the second “handover” design in a month. On 28 September a gold coin showing Myaku-Myaku passing a baton to Tunku Tunku went on sale, 260 pieces at 659,780 yen. Now the same composition comes as embroidery for 3,300 yen. A year after Expo 2025 closed, the imagery of the two characters together seems to be shifting from “playing side by side” to “passing on”.

It is sold as a book, but the 8 pages are secondary to the bag. The point of the format is distribution. Earlier collaboration goods were sold mainly at the Association’s official store and online shop, Ariake’s own shops, Mizuno’s shops and event venues. This one moves through the magazine trade, so you can pick it up at a local bookshop without travelling to Yokohama or Osaka.

The Association’s collaboration goods of March 2026 sold out soon after release and came back with new items added. The print run here is not disclosed, so we think anyone who definitely wants one should pre-order.

Tips for visitors

  • Pre-orders opened on 21 October at Amazon, Rakuten Books, BOOK Pia and bookshops across Japan. Release date is Thursday 29 October.
  • The bag is about 20 cm high, 15.5 cm wide and 2 cm deep. It takes a phone, cards and a paperback, and the strap comes off. Items go in and out through the front pocket.
  • For the record of products and appearances featuring both characters, see Myaku-Myaku and Tunku Tunku collaborations; for the mascot’s background, Tunku Tunku profile.
