- On 21 October 2026 Pasona Inc. (Chiyoda, Tokyo) announced that it will recruit a total of 220 staff for several contracted operations at the 2027 International Horticultural Expo (GREEN×EXPO 2027).
- Roles include directors who supervise attendants and staff, pavilion operations and language support. The company says it welcomes people who worked at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai or other expos and international events.
- Three briefing sessions will be held at Pasona Yokohama (TS Plaza Building 16F, 2-23-2 Tsuruya-cho, Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama): Friday 23 October 13:00–16:00, Saturday 31 October 9:00–16:00, and a third session dated “Saturday 7 November” in the body of the release but “Saturday 17 November” in its summary (unconfirmed by trip-jp; 17 November 2026 is a Tuesday).
- The sessions are for people who have registered with Pasona and passed screening. Invitations go to those applicants; walk-ins are not accepted.
- Enquiries: Pasona Inc., yokohama-event@pasona.co.jp. Details are on the company’s recruitment page.
- Pasona Group says it handled staffing for the Japan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and, at Expo 2025, ran its own pavilion “PASONA NATUREVERSE” while also planning operations and training and dispatching attendants for overseas pavilions.
- The release does not say which operations Pasona has been contracted for, the type of employment, pay or the working period.
Our take
Recruitment for people to work at the Expo has surfaced under a contractor’s name rather than the Association’s. But the release only says “several related operations” and does not say whether the client is the Association or an exhibitor, so it does not tell us which pavilions or tasks the 220 people will be assigned to.
At Expo 2025, Pasona ran its own pavilion, PASONA NATUREVERSE, and also took on operations and attendant training for other countries’ pavilions. No Pasona exhibit has been announced for Yokohama, so this time the company is working behind the scenes. Welcoming former Expo 2025 workers reads to us as an attempt to bring back people who were doing the same jobs a year ago.
Most of our readers are visitors, but for anyone living along the lines to the venue who wants to work during the Expo, this is the first concrete recruitment. Registration and screening come before any briefing. The conflicting date for the third session is worth checking on the recruitment page before acting on it.
Tips for visitors
- If you want to work during the Expo, register with Pasona through its recruitment page first; briefing invitations go only to applicants who pass screening.
- The third briefing date differs between the release text and its summary. Check the recruitment page before planning around it.
- For the venue’s pavilions, see All pavilions at a glance.
Our take
A notice for people who want to work at the Expo, not for visitors. Roles span attendants, directors, pavilion operations and language support, but the release does not say which contracts Pasona holds, and briefings are only for registered, screened applicants. The third date reads 7 or 17 November. On 22 October the association said one contract is the national pavilion area.
