- The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) will run GREEN×EXPO 2027 booths at nine events in 2026:
- 3 Oct: JA Group Kokushō Kokusan Fes (KITTE Atrium and Terrace, Chiyoda, Tokyo)
- 7–9 Oct: 16th Agri Week (Makuhari Messe)
- 10–12 Oct: Shin Ibaraki Meshi Sōsenkyo 2026 (Ibaraki Prefecture Sannomaru Building, Mito)
- 1 Nov: NIPPON FOOD SHIFT FES. Tokyo 2026 (Marunouchi Naka-dori)
- 7 Nov: Nenrin Pic Sainokuni Saitama 2026 (Kumagaya Sports Culture Park stadium)
- 8 Nov: 49th National Tree Nurturing Festival (Shirahama Kaikan, Wakayama)
- 11–13 Nov: Agribusiness Creation Fair 2026 (Tokyo Big Sight, West Hall 4)
- 13–14 Nov: Harvest Festival government exhibit (Sunshine City)
- 14–15 Nov: NIPPON FOOD SHIFT FES. within Sakana Bunkasai 2026 (Osanbashi Hall, Yokohama)
- The Tunku Tunku costume appears only on 12 October in Mito, with a greeting and an expo quiz. A Tunku Tunku figure is shown at KITTE, Marunouchi, Big Sight and Sunshine City.
- Every booth has posters and panels and shows some official licensed goods, which are not for sale. Giveaways (a sun visor, stickers and a fan) last while stocks do.
- Details may change depending on each event. Event names are our translations.
Our take
Only one of the nine days has the Tunku Tunku costume: 12 October in Mito, the last day of that event. Four venues have a figure and the other four have displays and giveaways only. If meeting Tunku Tunku is the reason to go, Mito on the 12th is the only choice.
It also helps to know before going that the official goods are on show, not on sale. MAFF describes the booths as a chance to look at the goods before the expo opens, so they are for browsing and deciding; buying happens elsewhere.
The list mixes trade fairs for the farming and food industries with open street and food events. One of the shared items, used at some venues, is a large banner of the expo map where visitors throw flower-shaped pieces onto the Japanese Government Garden and the Villages. With the opening less than six months away, people around Tokyo get several chances in October and November to learn the site layout as a game. We think a first look at the map like this helps when planning the order of a visit later.
Tips for visitors
- To meet the costume, go to Mito on Monday 12 October (a public holiday). The greeting and quiz are on that day only.
- KITTE (3 October) and Marunouchi Naka-dori (1 November) are both in central Chiyoda and both show the figure. In Yokohama, the booth is at Osanbashi Hall on 14 and 15 November.
- Our Tunku Tunku profile covers the character, and the GREEN×EXPO 2027 tickets guide covers how to get in once the expo opens.
Our take
Of the nine events, only Mito on 12 October has the Tunku Tunku costume; four others show a figure. Official goods are displayed but not sold. The booths give people around Tokyo several chances this autumn to learn the expo layout before it opens.
