- On 14 September 2026 Kanagawa Prefecture announced collaboration goods pairing its mascot Kanagawa Kintaro with Tunku Tunku, the official mascot of GREEN×EXPO 2027. They went on sale the next day, 15 September (Tuesday).
- Two items: pin badges at 715 yen each and key rings at 825 yen each, tax included.
- They are sold at the EXPO 2027 Official Store in Sogo Yokohama and the EXPO 2027 Official Store in Takashimaya Yokohama. The prefecture’s antenna shop, Kanagawa-ya, will stock them in turn.
- How many designs there are, whether quantities are limited, when sales end, and whether the goods will be sold online are not in the announcement.
- “Kanagawa Kintaro” and “Kanagawa-ya” are trip-jp’s own English renderings; the prefecture gives no official English spellings.
Our take
Six days earlier, on 8 September, the prefecture unveiled VIBRANTs and Momoon, the mascots of its own pavilion (the Kanagawa pavilion logo and mascots). Now it reaches instead for Kintaro, the character it has used for years. VIBRANTs and Momoon greet you inside the pavilion; Kintaro goes around the prefecture telling people the Expo is coming. That is how the split looks.
715 and 825 yen is pocket money. Light enough to hand out to several people, cheap enough not to think about. Both shops sit beside Yokohama Station, so you can buy them without going near the venue. The flip side: for now that is two department stores plus an antenna shop, with nothing said about online sales.
Both items are priced “each”, which reads as several designs per item. But the number of designs is not given, and neither is an end date. Earlier Tunku Tunku collaborations have sold out quickly. The Myaku-Myaku pairing went within days and came back with new designs. If you want one, early is safer, I think.
Tips for visitors
- Sogo Yokohama and Takashimaya Yokohama are both a short walk from Yokohama Station, easy to fit into a day when you change trains there.
- Kanagawa-ya will stock the goods in turn rather than from day one, so check before making a trip for them.
- For other places to buy official goods, see our note on the permanent store at Yamashita Park and the pop-up shops.
Our take
The prefecture's own mascot alongside the Expo's, on pin badges at 715 yen and key rings at 825 yen. Both stores are next to Yokohama Station. How many designs there are, and how long they stay on sale, has not been announced.
