- The Flower Life Promotion Council (a general incorporated association; the English name is ours) organises the evening with Japan Flower Group, which runs Ginza Rose Gallery, and Japan Flower Corporation. The theme of this second meeting is “ROSE FOR PEACE”, a charity salon for peace and disaster relief.
- It runs on Saturday 26 September 2026 from 15:00 to about 17:30 at ROSE GALLERY Ginza (8-4-27 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo).
- The first half has a performance by a 19-year-old violinist from Hiroshima and a talk by the chief brand director of ROSE GALLERY. Works by a glass artist with a studio in Tonami, Toyama, are on display. In the second half, participants talk about flowers, music, food, international culture and GREEN×EXPO 2027.
- The fee is ¥10,000, which includes a contribution to “FLOWER RELAY”, a scheme that buys flowers from growers in disaster-hit Kumamoto. Places are limited and must be booked in advance on Peatix.
- Japan Flower Corporation ran a Noto Peninsula recovery stall in the “JAPAN Marche” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, and started the Ginza meetings with the council to carry the connections made there on to the Yokohama expo.
- FLOWER RELAY and the glass works move on to an event at Zuiryuji temple in Takaoka, Toyama, on 3 October.
Our take
The name says “EXPO”, but this is not an event of the GREEN×EXPO Association. It is run by a flower industry association and a company with a rose shop in Ginza. The organisers say people involved with GREEN×EXPO 2027 came to the first meeting, but we would not go expecting ticket advice or new details about the venue.
What caught our attention is that an Expo 2025 exhibitor is keeping the people it met there together, on its own initiative, all the way to Yokohama. The Grand Ring timber and the relocated pavilions are plans made by the Association and companies. This is the human side of the handover.
We think the ¥10,000 is best read as a membership fee with a donation inside it rather than a concert ticket. Part of it buys Kumamoto flowers, and the second half is conversation among participants. It suits people who work with flowers, or who want to talk with people exhibiting at the expo. It is not aimed at families planning their visit.
Tips for visitors
- Book on the Peatix page for the second EXPO Sakaba Ginza. Places are limited, so do it before the day itself, 26 September.
- The organisers describe the shop as facing Sotobori-dori in Ginza 8-chome. They give no nearest station, so look up the address on a map before you set out.
- For how the Grand Ring timber and Nomo no Kuni are being reused at the Yokohama expo, see From Expo 2025 to the Yokohama Expo.
Our take
This is not an Association event. It is run by a flower industry body and a florist that had a Noto recovery stall at Expo 2025 Osaka. The second half is open conversation, so it is not a briefing on the venue. The ¥10,000 includes support for Kumamoto growers.
