  • NYK Cruises, headquartered in Nishi Ward, Yokohama, announced on 14 October 2026 the schedule of 32 Asuka III cruises departing Yokohama, Tokyo, Nagoya, Kobe and Hakata between April and October 2027.
  • Bookings open on 11 November 2026 (Wednesday) at 10:30, through the company’s cruise desk, its website and travel agents.
  • In the seasonal series “Four Seasons on ASUKAⅢ”, passengers on early-summer cruises (eight cruises departing 5 June to 8 July 2027) that start and end in Yokohama receive GREEN×EXPO 2027 admission tickets. The example given is a two-night Yokohama short cruise from 19 to 21 June.
  • Other Yokohama departures include an 11-day Taiwan cruise (29 April to 9 May) and a 24-day round-Japan cruise leaving Yokohama on 11 May and arriving in Tokyo on 3 June.
  • The ticket type, how many per passenger, and how many of the eight early-summer cruises are Yokohama round trips are not stated. Fares are not in the release.

Our take

Only the early-summer Yokohama round trips come with Expo tickets. The Golden Week Taiwan cruise and the May round-Japan cruise leave from Yokohama too, but are not in that section, and the summer and autumn cruises say nothing about tickets. Across the six-month Expo, the tickets are limited to a handful of sailings in June and early July.

That makes it possible to add an Expo day after the cruise. The two-night short cruise returns to Yokohama on Monday 21 June; the arrival time is not given. If the ticket is for a fixed date, the Expo day has to fit around the cruise; if it works on any day, you can come back later. I would ask which it is before booking.

The venue, the former Kamiseya communications base in Seya and Asahi wards, is far from the port. In September Yokohama City announced a direct bus that loops from Sakuragicho Station past the Red Brick Warehouse and Chinatown to the venue. From the waterfront, that bus or the shuttle buses from four stations are the way in.

Tips for visitors

  • Expo tickets come with early-summer cruises (departing 5 June to 8 July 2027) that start and end in Yokohama. When booking, ask which sailings qualify and what kind of ticket you get.
