In 2027 Yokohama hosts an international horticultural exposition. The official Japanese name is the 2027 International Horticultural Expo, and the short name used everywhere is GREEN×EXPO 2027. It is an A1-class expo, the highest category approved by the AIPH and recognised by the BIE, and the first A1 expo in Japan since Osaka’s Expo ‘90.

The organiser expects more than 10 million paying visitors over the six months. Plan for crowds on weekends, public holidays and Golden Week (late April to early May).
Some unofficial sources say closing time varies by day of the week and season. The only hours confirmed in official announcements are the ones above, so check the official calendar for the day you plan to visit.
Ticket types and prices
Advance tickets have been on sale since 19 March 2026 through the official ticket site, travel agencies and ticket outlets in Japan.

Children aged 3 and under enter free. Paper tickets cost an extra 100 yen each.
If your dates are fixed, buying before opening day saves 600 yen on an adult one-day ticket. A season pass is worth roughly five one-day tickets, and a summer pass roughly two.
Entry requires a timed reservation. Reservations open on Friday 18 September 2026.
Getting there: the four-station shuttle bus
There is no train station at the venue. Shuttle buses from four nearby stations are the main way in.

The shuttle bus fare is 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children. Frequency, journey time and timetables have not been published. Shuttle bus reservations also open on 18 September 2026, so check the official site after that date.
Which station to use depends on where you start. From Shibuya in Tokyo, take the Den-en-toshi Line to Minami-machida Grandberry Park. From Yokohama Station, take the Sotetsu Line to Mitsukyo or Seya. From Shin-Yokohama or Machida, the Yokohama Line to Tokaichiba is the natural choice.
Driving
There are car parks on the north and west sides of the venue, both reservation only. Drivers arriving via Route 246, the Hodogaya Bypass or the Tomei Expressway are directed to the north car park, and those coming from the south to the west car park. Motorcycle and accessible parking is at the north car park only.

During peak periods, park-and-ride car parks open at Sagami-Ono (about 8 km from the venue) and Yamato (about 4 km) for 3,000 yen. The list of peak dates has not been published yet.
Where to stay
The venue is in the suburbs, so where you sleep decides how long you spend travelling. Three approaches work.
- Near a shuttle bus station: Seya, Mitsukyo, Minami-machida Grandberry Park or Tokaichiba. Easiest for catching the first bus of the day, though hotel choice is limited.
- Around Yokohama Station: plenty of hotels, direct Sotetsu Line trains to Mitsukyo and Seya, and easy to combine with sightseeing in Yokohama.
- In Tokyo: take the Den-en-toshi Line to Minami-machida Grandberry Park. Best if Tokyo is your main base and the Expo is a one-day trip.
Weekend rooms near the venue will fill first. Once your timed entry is confirmed, book the hotel at the same time.
