Entry to GREEN×EXPO 2027 requires a timed reservation. Booking opened on Friday 18 September 2026 on the official ticket site, the same day as shuttle bus and parking reservations, which are made on their own separate sites. You can book entry for family and friends together using their ticket IDs.
Yokohama hosts the expo in 2027. Its official Japanese name is the 2027 International Horticultural Expo, and GREEN×EXPO 2027 is the short name. It is an A1-class expo, the highest category approved by the AIPH and recognised by the BIE. The last A1 expo held in Japan was Osaka’s Expo ‘90.
Prices and transport details may still change before opening day, so confirm on the official site right before you book.

The organiser expects more than 10 million paying visitors over the six months. Plan for crowds on weekends, public holidays and Golden Week (late April to early May).
The only opening hours confirmed in official announcements are the ones above, so check the official calendar for the closing time on the day you plan to visit.
Ticket types and prices
Advance tickets have been on sale since 19 March 2026 through the official ticket site, travel agencies and ticket outlets in Japan.

Children aged 3 and under enter free. Paper tickets cost an extra 100 yen each.
If your dates are fixed, buying before opening day saves 600 yen on an adult one-day ticket. A season pass costs about the same as five one-day tickets, and a summer pass about the same as two.
The evening ticket goes on sale on opening day, 19 March 2027, and admits you once, on any day of the expo, from 17:00; with closing at 21:30 that gives about four and a half hours. The special discount ticket can be bought by holders of a Japanese disability certificate or equivalent (digital versions accepted) and one companion, and admits each person once on any day. The companion’s ticket cannot be bought or used on its own, so buy it together with the holder’s ticket.

Getting there: the four-station shuttle bus
There is no train station at the venue. Shuttle buses from four nearby stations are the main way in.

The shuttle bus fare is 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for children. According to the organiser’s transport FAQ, the ride to the venue takes about 10 minutes from Seya, 15 from Mitsukyo, 20 from Minami-machida Grandberry Park and 25 from Tokaichiba, and can run late in heavy traffic. Buses are planned from 8:30 to 22:30, roughly every 1 to 6 minutes at peak depending on the station. No timetable has been published. Which station to use depends on where you start. From Shibuya in Tokyo, take the Den-en-toshi Line to Minami-machida Grandberry Park. From Yokohama Station, take the Sotetsu Line to Mitsukyo or Seya. From Shin-Yokohama or Machida, take the Yokohama Line to Tokaichiba.
Driving
There are car parks on the north and west sides of the venue, both reservation only. Drivers arriving via Route 246, the Hodogaya Bypass or the Tomei Expressway are directed to the north car park, and those coming from the south to the west car park. Motorcycle and accessible parking is at the north car park only.

During peak periods, park-and-ride car parks open at Sagami-Ono (about 8 km from the venue) and Yamato (about 4 km) for 3,000 yen. The organiser defines peak periods as weekends and holidays in Golden Week, September and similar times, and lists the dates on the official access page: 29 April; 2, 3, 23, 29 and 30 May; 6 and 13 June; 14 and 15 August; and 4, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20, 23, 25 and 26 September 2027, 19 days in all. These dates decide both the peak parking fee in the table above and the days park-and-ride is available.
Where to stay
The venue is in the suburbs, so where you stay decides how long you spend travelling.
- Near a shuttle bus station: Seya, Mitsukyo, Minami-machida Grandberry Park or Tokaichiba. Easiest for catching the first bus of the day, though hotel choice is limited.
- Around Yokohama Station: plenty of hotels, direct Sotetsu Line trains to Mitsukyo and Seya, and easy to combine with sightseeing in Yokohama.
- In Tokyo: take the Den-en-toshi Line to Minami-machida Grandberry Park. Best if Tokyo is your main base and the Expo is a one-day trip.
Once your timed entry is confirmed, book the hotel at the same time.
