If you come to GREEN×EXPO 2027 by Shinkansen from Nagoya, Kansai or further afield, your base is Shin-Yokohama. The venue has no station, and there are two ways from Shin-Yokohama to a shuttle-bus station.
1. Two routes from Shin-Yokohama

Route A needs no change of trains. Leave the Shinkansen, go through the JR local-line gates and board the Yokohama Line. It suits people with a lot of luggage or on a first visit to Yokohama. Yokohama Line rapid trains do not stop at Tokaichiba. JR East’s station timetable for Tokaichiba lists only local trains in both directions, on weekdays and on weekends and holidays, while the next station, Nakayama, shows rapid services (checked 19 September 2026). Board a local train at Shin-Yokohama. If you end up on a rapid, change to a local at Nakayama. The Association’s Visitor Transport Implementation Plan (3rd edition) says nothing about stopping rapid trains at Tokaichiba during the Expo.
On Route B, you board a Sotetsu Shin-Yokohama Line train at the Sotetsu–Tokyu Shin-Yokohama station. Tokyu describes the through-service as running Ebina and Shonandai – Nishiya – Hazawa Yokohama-Kokudai – Hiyoshi – towards Shibuya and Meguro, and the platform signs at Shin-Yokohama read “for Ebina and Shonandai”. Seya and Mitsukyo are on the Sotetsu Main Line, so a through train towards Ebina takes you there with no change at Nishiya. On a train for any other destination, change at Nishiya to a Sotetsu Main Line train. Limited expresses skip Seya and Mitsukyo, so check the destination and stops of your train in the Sotetsu timetable. Tokyu puts the walk from JR Shin-Yokohama to the Sotetsu–Tokyu station at about 10 minutes, so allow for that.
Bus ride times are estimates from the organiser’s Visitor Transport Implementation Plan (3rd edition). Timetables are unpublished, and riding the bus requires an advance reservation (bookings opened on 18 September 2026).
2. Hotels near Shin-Yokohama Station
Only hotels whose official sites state the nearest exit and walking time are listed. Rates vary by date and are not shown. Opening years were not stated on the official sites.

Hotel Associa Shin-Yokohama, once directly connected to the station, closed on 16 July 2026 for rebranding. It is scheduled to reopen in December 2026 as Courtyard by Marriott Shin-Yokohama Station. The official site says the opening date and booking start are still to be announced. It should be open by the Expo’s start in March 2027, but confirm before you book.
How to choose
- To reach your hotel soonest after stepping off the Shinkansen, the Grace and the Prince are one to two minutes’ walk from the JR side exits (official figures).
- Families can use the connecting rooms at the Washington R&B or the rooms with kitchens at the Fujiview.
- For a soak after a day on your feet, the Fujiview has a natural hot-spring bath.
3. Packages and the admission ticket
JR Tokai Tours’ EX Tabi Pack and Nippon Travel Agency’s JR-plus-hotel packages bundle a Shinkansen seat with a hotel, with Shin-Yokohama as the arrival station. JR Tokai Tours, however, states it has no plans to sell a package that includes Expo admission. Buy the rail package and the Expo ticket separately, and make your own timed-entry reservation. If you want a product with admission included, HIS has sold tours with tickets since 31 August 2026. They include day-trip coaches from Shinjuku, Yokohama and Nagoya, and flight packages from Itami, Kobe, Kansai, New Chitose and Fukuoka.
4. Booking order
- Choose a ticket and reserve your entry date and time (open since 18 September 2026).
- Reserve the shuttle bus and decide between Tokaichiba and Seya. It is a separate site from your entry booking, so check that both have space first.
- Book the Shinkansen and hotel. If you use a package, remember the admission ticket is separate.
Book the room the day your entry slot is confirmed.
Correction (18 September 2026): in “Booking order”, we said the shuttle bus should be booked on or after the day you reserve your entry. The organiser’s FAQ only says they are booked separately, on different sites; there is no set order.
Correction (19 October 2026): in “Two routes from Shin-Yokohama”, we said Route B always involves one change at Nishiya onto the Sotetsu Main Line. Tokyu’s description of the through-service shows trains running from Shin-Yokohama towards Ebina, so a through train needs no change. We also added the organiser’s estimate for the bus from Mitsukyo (about 4 km, about 15 minutes) to the table.
