A family of four with one junior high and one elementary school child pays ¥15,800 for regular day tickets to GREEN×EXPO 2027: two adults at ¥5,500, one teen at ¥3,300 and one child at ¥1,500. If the family lives in Kanagawa Prefecture, the ¥4,800 for the two children drops to zero. The prefecture and the City of Yokohama are each giving one free day ticket to every resident aged 4 to 18.
The ticket comes as a ticket ID, and only to those who apply. Applications opened on 1 September 2026 and close on 5 September 2027. The Expo runs from 19 March to 26 September 2027. This is a scheme for residents, so visitors from outside Kanagawa are not covered.
Aged 4 to 18 on 1 April 2027
That means born between 2 April 2008 and 1 April 2023. The child has to live in Kanagawa on the day you apply. Where you apply depends on the address.

Both call centres are open on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00 and closed from 29 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. The Yokohama line handles English, Mandarin, Korean, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese through interpreters, and so does the inquiry form on Pamatoco.
Yokohama’s FAQ says nationality does not matter if the child meets the conditions. Children aged 3 and under enter the Expo free and need neither a ticket nor an application.
18-year-olds have an earlier deadline
People born between 2 April 2008 and 1 April 2009 qualify only if the application is made by 31 March 2027. Both the prefecture and the city apply the same rule. For ticket pricing an 18-year-old counts as an adult, so this is the age group with the most to gain: ¥5,500 for a regular day ticket. A ticket ID received before the deadline stays valid until the Expo closes on 26 September.
What you need
A parent or guardian applies. You upload photos of ID for both the applicant and each child, showing name, date of birth and current address:
- My Number Card (front only)
- Driving licence (the prefecture also asks for the back)
- Certificate of residence (juminhyo) issued within three months, without the My Number printed on it
- Residence card (zairyu card)
- Yokohama also accepts a special permanent resident certificate or a health insurance eligibility certificate
The prefecture warns that HEIC photos taken on an iPhone may fail to upload, so convert them to JPEG first. It also asks you not to change your email address until the review is finished. Yokohama requires a Pamatoco account before you can open the form, and said on 18 September 2026 that reviews are taking longer because of the number of applications.
After the ticket ID arrives
The ticket ID will not get anyone through the gate. Register it on the GREEN×EXPO 2027 ticket site and book a date and entry time. Timed-entry booking opened on 18 September 2026. To book the whole family together, choose the option to add tickets held by other people and enter each child’s ticket ID; up to ten tickets fit in one booking. The screens are described in our ticket guide. Shuttle buses and parking are booked separately, and children pay the bus fare.
A ticket ID passed to anyone other than the child becomes invalid.
Parents buy their own tickets
Accompanying adults are not covered. An adult day ticket costs ¥4,900 at the early-bird price until 18 March 2027 and ¥5,500 after that; the evening ticket is ¥3,500. Carers of children with disabilities are not given a ticket either. The prefecture points them to the special discount ticket (¥2,800 for adults), which covers a disability certificate holder and one carer.
If you have already bought tickets for the children, the prefecture’s FAQ says it does not refund tickets purchased before applying. Check whether your children qualify before buying theirs.
