Our take

The opening-day photo sessions take 60 groups in total. Numbered tickets are handed out from 10:00 to people who spend 1,000 yen or more on official goods in the store, and the first session starts at noon. The release gives no closing date for the store.

  • The GREEN×EXPO Association and the Expo’s Master Licensing Office (2027MLO) said on 6 October 2026 that the “EXPO 2027 Official Store, MARUZEN & Junkudo Shin-Shizuoka” opens on Friday 9 October. It is the first permanent official store in Shizuoka Prefecture.
  • The store is inside the Maruzen & Junkudo bookshop on the 5th floor of Shin-Shizuoka Cenova, 1-1-1 Takajo, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka. It is open from 10:00 to 21:00 and closes on the same days as the bookshop.
  • On opening day Tunku Tunku, the official mascot, appears for photo sessions at 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. Each lasts 30 minutes and takes 20 groups. The sessions are in the event space on the same floor.
  • Numbered tickets are given out from 10:00 that day, first come, first served, to people who buy official licensed goods worth 1,000 yen or more (tax included) in the store.
  • A group is up to two people, not counting pre-school children, and gets one photo. Bring your own camera or phone.
  • The release does not say how long the store will stay open.

Our take

Sixty groups is the whole capacity: three sessions of 20. The purchase needed for a ticket is 1,000 yen, lower than the 3,000 yen set for the photo session at Hands Shinjuku on 26 September. Tickets start going out at 10:00, when the store opens, and the first session is at noon. 9 October is a Friday, so the people who can reach Shin-Shizuoka on a weekday morning are the ones who will get them.

For the Tokai region, the timing follows another shop. The temporary store at Kintetsu Department Store in Yokkaichi closes on 12 October, as announced on 31 August. Three days before that, a store with no stated end date opens in Shizuoka. The Yamashita Park store in Yokohama was announced with an end date, 31 May 2027. This one was not.

The store sits inside Maruzen Junkudo. The same company leads the joint venture that the association named on 10 April as an operator of the official stores inside the Expo site. We think visitors coming from Shizuoka will be able to look through the range here before they queue at the site in Yokohama.

Tips for visitors

  • For a photo, be at the store on the 5th floor of Shin-Shizuoka Cenova at 10:00 on Friday 9 October. Spend 1,000 yen or more (tax included) on official goods to get a numbered ticket. There are 60 places across the three sessions.
  • A group is two people at most and gets one photo. Bring a camera or phone.
  • The store is open 10:00 to 21:00, and you can shop there on any later day.
  • Goods made with Myaku-Myaku are listed in our round-up of the collaboration items.
