- JFTD Hana Cupid, an association based in Tokyo, announced on 15 September 2026 that it will take part in GREEN×EXPO 2027 as a flower and green exhibitor.
- Dates: nine days, from Saturday 10 April to Sunday 18 April 2027, under the theme “connecting everyone’s future with flowers” (our translation).

- Flower Design Competition 2027 Japan Cup: florists who have come through regional heats compete for the national title.
- Displays and workshops: arrangements by member florists from around Japan, and workshops on enjoying flowers at home.
- Flower education programme: hands-on sessions and contests for children and teenagers, who create a flower-filled space together.
- Who they are: founded in 1953, the association built Japan’s first network for delivering fresh flowers through cooperating florists; about 4,000 shops belong to it today. It chose the Expo, an A1-class international horticultural exhibition, as a place to pass Japan’s flower culture on to the next generation and to the world.

Our take
This is an exhibit with dates. From 10 to 18 April 2027, three weeks after the 19 March opening. Short-term flower and green exhibits rotate every nine days (our report on HANAMEGURI, published the same day), and these nine days are one such slot. It is the first time that the nine-day unit has appeared as actual dates.
The draw is the contest. Florists who have won regional heats make their pieces at the venue and one is named the best in Japan. Unlike a finished display, you can watch the work in progress. How it can be watched, whether from an open floor or from seats, is not stated; we will add it when announced.
The nine days run from a Saturday to the following Sunday, so they include two weekends. If you were thinking of skipping the opening rush in late March and coming in April, this is a week to aim for.
Tips for visitors
- The florists’ contest can only be seen from 10 to 18 April 2027. The weekends are 10 and 11 April and 17 and 18 April.
- Early-bird one-day tickets are sold until 18 March 2027. Once you have picked a day in that week, see ticket types and how to buy and buy first.

Our take
The exhibit runs 10 to 18 April, three weeks after opening, one nine-day slot of the short-term flower and green exhibits. The contest to name Japan's best florist can only be seen in those nine days, which makes it easy to plan around. Location and how to watch the contest are not stated.
